A meeting of the Town Council will be held on Tuesday, 4 June 2019 in the Function Room,
Ilminster Bowling and Tennis Club, Shudrick Lane, Ilminster, TA19 0BN starting at 20:30 hrs.
The public are welcome to attend this meeting. Members of the public are invited to ask
questions or raise issues relevant to the work of the Council. The overall time available for
this session is restricted to 15 minutes unless the Chair decides otherwise. Individual
speakers are restricted to 3 minutes and are asked not to repeat points that have been made
previously. It is helpful if potential contributors can make themselves known to the Meeting
Administrator before the meeting so that the session can be programmed effectively.
Public participation is not part of the formal meeting of the Council however a note will be
made of matters raised and recorded at the start of the minutes of the meeting.
The business to be transacted at the meeting is outlined on the Agenda below. Any reports
listed as “to follow” will be made available as soon as possible, and in any event at least 30
minutes before the start of the meeting.
Between 19:30hrs and 20:30hrs at the Bowling and Tennis Cub there will be an informal
opportunity for the public to put forward their thoughts and suggestions regarding the former
Gooch and Housego premises – this session will be facilitated by the Mayor.

6. Prohibition of U turns and Right Turns Order 2019
Highways England Company Limited (a) proposes to make an Order under sections 1(1) and 2(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on the A303 Trunk Road in Wiltshire. The effect of the Order would be to prohibit: (a) U-turns on the A303 between 1278 metres east of Southfields Roundabout and 8456 metres east of Southfield Roundabout; (b) right turns from the lay-bys adjacent to the A303 eastbound 1743 metres east of Southfields Roundabout and 192 metres east of Boxstone Hill Overbridge and westbound 601 metres east of David’s Lane Overbridge and 823 metres west of Boxstone Hill Overbridge. Anyone wishing to object to the proposed Order should send, not later than 13 June 2019 or within 21 days from the date of first publication of the notice, if that period expires later, a written statement of their objection and the grounds on which it is made to Highways England at the address above, quoting reference HESW 04/19.
