A meeting of the OPEN SPACES COMMITTEE will take place on Tuesday 11 September 2018 in the Council Chamber, Council Offices, North Street, Ilminster at 7.30pm.
The public are welcome to attend this meeting. Members of the public are invited to ask questions or raise issues relevant to the work of the Council. The overall time available for this session is restricted to 15 minutes unless the Chair decides otherwise. Individual speakers are restricted to 3 minutes and are asked not to repeat points that have been made previously. It is helpful if potential contributors can make themselves known to the Town Clerk before the meeting so that the session can be programmed effectively.
Public participation is not part of the formal meeting of the Council however a note will be made of matters raised and recorded at the start of the minutes of the meeting.

Committee members are asked to arrive at the Council Chamber for 7.30pm, as the Chair will be facilitating a briefing on Open Spaces matters to give newer committee members useful, background information regarding ongoing topics and potential projects.

- Apologies for Absence
To receive apologies for absence from Councillors unable to attend the meeting.
- Declarations of Interest
To receive any declarations from Councillors and Officers of interests in respect of matters to be considered at this meeting, together with an appropriate statement regarding the nature of the interest.
- Minutes
- a) To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 10 July 2018 as a correct record. (To follow)
- b) To consider the office Action Plan relating to the Town Council Meetings. (To follow)
- Police Report
This agenda item provides an opportunity for the Police to report on any matters relevant to policing in Ilminster.
- Financial Monitoring
To receive information about the Open Spaces Committee income, expenditure and commitments, compared to the 2018/19 budget (To follow)
- Refund of Circus Deposit
To consider returning the deposit that was taken from John Lawson’s Circus (the deposit is taken to cover any damage caused as a result of their use of the Wharf Lane Recreation Ground).
- Grass Cutting Equipment
To consider a plan to replace the existing Stiga grass cutting machine, especially with regard to use at the cemetery and the Minster
- Open Spaces Work
To receive information on the plans that have been put in place to cover staff absence and make suggestions for possible temporary solutions.
- Open Spaces Volunteers and Support to Other Organisations
Following on from the discussions at the 26 June and 10 July meetings to consider the support e.g. loan of equipment, carrying out extra grounds maintenance tasks, that is given to other organisations.
