A meeting of the OPEN SPACES COMMITTEE will take place on Tuesday 27 March 2018 in the Council Chamber, Council Offices, North Street, Ilminster at 19:30hrs
The public are welcome to attend this meeting. Members of the public are invited to ask questions or raise issues relevant to the work of the Council. The overall time available for this session is restricted to 15 minutes unless the Chair decides otherwise. Individual speakers are restricted to 3 minutes and are asked not to repeat points that have been made previously. It is helpful if potential contributors can make themselves known to the Town Clerk before the meeting so that the session can be programmed effectively.
Public participation is not part of the formal meeting of the Council however a note will be made of matters raised and recorded at the start of the minutes of the meeting.

OPEN SPACES AGENDA
1. Apologies for Absence.
To receive apologies for absence from Councillors unable to attend the meeting.
2. Declarations of Interest.
To receive any declarations from Councillors and Officers of interests in respect of matters to be considered at this meeting, together with an appropriate statement regarding the nature of interest.
3. Minutes.
a) To confirm the minutes of the meeting held on 27 February 2018 as a correct record. (To follow).
b) To consider the action list relating to the Open Spaces committee. (To follow)
4. Police Report.
This agenda item provided an opportunity for the Police to report on any matters relevant to policing in Ilminster.
5. Open Spaces Team Report.
To receive the report from the Open Spaces Team about recent open spaces activities in Ilminster. (To follow)
6. Financial Monitoring.
To receive information about the Open Spaces Committee, income, expenditure and commitments compared with the 2017/18 budget. (To follow).
7. Ilminster Town Football Club (ITFC) Sponsor Signs.
To consider a request from Ilminster Sports Club for clause 18.5 of the lease to be overridden to enable ITFC to display their sponsor signs for the duration of the football season. (To follow).
8. Playground Inspection Quotes.
To consider the quotes received for carrying out an annual play inspection in West Crescent Play Park, Wharf Lane Play Park, Winterhay Lane Play Park and Britten’s Field. (To follow).
9. Quotation for Weedkilling.
To consider quotations for weedkilling at – Wharf Lane Recreation Ground and Britten’s Field. (To follow).
10. Replacement Springer for Winterhay Lane.
To consider replacing the broken springer in the Winterhay Lane recreation ground. (To follow).
11. Footpath Between The Shed And Canal Way.
The Town Council has agreed in principle to the construction of a footpath between The Shed and Canal Way, with the materials being purchased by the Town Council and the labour being provided by Ilminster Cricket Club. The Cricket Club will be supplying information on all the costs. The Committee is asked to identify the budget(s) to be used for the expenditure.
12. Skatepark Graffiti Project.
To consider the possibility of a graffiti project for the skatepark ramps as a way of discouraging vandalism.
