Media Release – Making Ilminster a better place

The Ilminster Citizens Award recognises people who have worked hard to make the town a better place and who deserve recognition for their efforts.

Ilminster Town Council would like to receive your nomination for the 2017 Ilminster Citizens Award.  If you know somebody who has contributed significantly to the life of Ilminster, please consider nominating them.  All you need to do is to complete a nomination form explaining why you think the person should receive the award.  Some previous recipients of the award have been recognised for their fundraising activities, for volunteering, for litter picking, for working with young people and for instigating an annual town event.

Nomination forms can be obtained from Ilminster Town Council Offices, North Street between 10 – 12 pm Monday to Friday or by emailing town.council@ilminster.gov.uk or downloading the form Citizens Award Nomination Form 2017.  The closing date for the receipt of nominations is Tuesday 18 April.

The name of the award winner will be announced at the Annual Community Assembly on 9 May.

 

Notes for Editors

  1. Nominees and those making the nominations for the Citizen’s Award must be on the Electoral Roll for Ilminster
  2. Nominations must be signed by three individuals and nominations are not accepted from organisations or societies
  3. The award may be issued posthumously provided that the nomination closing date is no more than 1 year since the nominee deceased
  4. Serving Councillors from County, District or the Town Council are not eligible for nomination
  5. Nominees should not be told of their nomination.
