ILMINSTER CITIZEN’S AWARD 2014

Posted on 16th April, 2014 in News

Who Makes a Difference in Ilminster?

Ilminster Town Council are asking for nominations for the 2014 Citizens Award

Ilminster’s Mayor, Emma Jane Taylor said “We are looking for people who have contributed significantly towards the benefit of the town and the people who live and work here. Often people work tirelessly and without fuss and go largely un-noticed but make a vital contribution and these awards aim to recognise such service.”

This is an award by Ilminster residents for people who they consider have made a positive difference to the town. Each nomination must be signed by 3 Ilminster citizens and explain the reasons why the person is being nominated – how they serve Ilminster and the impact they make on the town. All nominations will be considered by a selection panel comprising Town Councillors who will decide the 2014 award winner.

Previous awards have been made to people for a wide variety of reasons – instigating an annual town event, litter picking, fundraising, volunteering and working with young people to list just some of the activities included on the award citations.

Nomination forms can be obtained from Ilminster Town Council Offices, North Street between 10 – 12 pm Monday to Friday or by emailing town.council@ilminster.gov.uk or downloading via the website
The closing date for the receipt of nominations is Friday 25 April

The name of the award winner will be revealed at the Annual Town Meeting on 6 May.
